Web services for monitoring system in optical communication

Abstract

This paper proposed an application of microcontroller embedded Ethernet to monitoring system in optical communication. We focus on distributed real-time systems, which stand to benefit most from the use of web services technology. For this propose the PIC microcontroller is used control any optical switch connected to it, and send information to internet. It was successfully identified without affecting communication signal transmission, with the specification available a complete system can be made with 24 man-hours. The system will to improve the service reliability and reduce the maintenance cost.
