Abstract

This article will discuss the Wasa?iyyah virtues and traits in Islam. The practice of Wasa?iyyah virtues has long been seen amongst mankind, albeit indirectly. During the time of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, the Wasa?iyyah attitude was utilised as the main practical component of Madinah's governance, which ensured the stability of its people of multiple faith, race and culture. Hence was also the scenario with other Muslim communities, where the Wasatiyyah approach was used to achieve goals permissible by Islam. Therefore, this article will aim to comment in further detail with regards to the Wasa?iyyah virtues and traits in Islam through the focus of politics, economy and social; all of them key components which are seen to provide stability to one's life. This study utilizes the qualitative method of content analysis as its research instrument. The findings of this study show that the concept of Wasatiyyah should be implemented throughout the community via all aspects of life including politics, economy and social in order for the livelihood of the people, namely Muslims, to be secure; and also to pave way for the development of a much more united people.
