Abstract

We examine the role of unionization on the external linkages of Turkish stock market (ISE) using the daily data span from 1988 to 2008. We apply dynamic recursive cointegration tests with multivariate approach of Hansen and Johansen (1992). Our estimation result indicate that; degree of external linkages of ISE has increased with developing European Union (EU) member countries but, decreased with developed EU member countries, US and Japan over time and together with the accession talks.
