Thermal annealing effect on electric conductivity of polycrystalline CdTe films with CdCl2 interstitial impurity

Abstract

The effect of thermal annealing duration tan (at 500°C) on the thermal-equilibrium conductivity of polycrystalline CdTe films coated with a CdCl2 layer has been investigated. The mechanism of established regularity of variation of the conductivity rate from its reduction to growth at tan exceeding 40 min has been proposed. The mechanism accounts for the competition between the O2 acceptor-formation properties and the Cd and Cl atoms donor-formation nature.
