Abstract

Energy poverty is one of the main obstacles for developing of Low income OIC countries. It is widely recognized that adequate, reliable and relevant information on energy requirements, primary energy supply and end use, and energy conservation is not available. In order to solve the energy problems of low-income groups, new strategies emphasizing the rational use of non-commercial alternative energy resources and adopting new technologies are needed. Since the Low income countries are well endowed with renewable energy resources, exploitation of renewable energy sources is particularly relevant to the needs of these oil-importing countries. This paper reviews the requirements, challenges and priorities of Energy policy for Low income OIC countries.
