    Abstract

    The Global change in weather patterns affecting rainwater distribution temporarily and spatially. Rainwater harvesting and utilization has certainly be given and added dimension and approach toward an integrated sustainable development inniative. Water scarcity has hit the world and many environmental incidents have taken over the future of water security. We need to revisit our planning and make necessary amendments to suit to changes. Universiti kebangsaan Malaysia which are expected to be developed as sustainable campus by the year 2012 has take initiative to install a pilot project of rainwater harvesting system in one the building built in the Ninth Malaysian Plan. The selected building is the Faculty of Science and Technology new Laboratory and administration building. This paper will cover the conceptual approach on planning the rainwater harvesting system in this building.
