The assessment of car cabin interior noise based on fuzzy set theory

Abstract

The interior acoustics level in interior cabin can be an explanatory factor in purchasing a particular vehicle. For evaluating the interior noise level, an index is compulsory to represent the annoyance level that has been experienced numerically. The approach in this study is to categorize the level of interior noise in the car cabin. The fuzzy set theory is utilized in order to classify the level of noise annoyance, in order to develop a degree of annoyance, having partitioned them based on humanistic expression. Other than the fact that it is more precise, another advantage of this index is that it can also be employed in various fields of engineering especially where the system of fuzzy logic is concerned.
