Abstract
It is shown that linear relationships exist between the Szigeti charge and the ratio of the anion radius to the nearest-neighbour (nn) distance in the alkali halides with NaCl structure. The relationships obtained can be used to determine the Szigeti charge of alloys typified by AxB1-xC. The extrapolated value of the Szigeti charge for LiI is also given.
