From the perspective of Al-quran and Al-sunnah to natural and artificial systems

Abstract

Swarm intelligence is the study of collective, cooperative and decentralized behavior of a natural or artificial system comprising of many individuals that work together to reach a common goal. The complex yet intelligent behavior of an ant colony for example, could be mimicked by a city traffic system to solve shortest route problems. When studying the Quran, there are multiple ayah (vs.) which imply the collective and cooperative behavior of these animals which show that they possess a certain level of intelligence and sophistication. This paper aims to bring together these different perspectives to gain a higher appreciation of the scientific ilm (knowledge) in the light of the Quran.
