Abstract

A study has been carried out to assess the sustainability of limestone resource development in the State of Perak. The evaluation framework was developed based on ecosystem integrity. Information generated from the study was synthesized to delineate several indicators of sustainability. The indicators relate to resources, operations, products and environmental concerns. Preliminary results reveal several limitations to the sustainability of limestone resource development in the State of Perak.
