Abstract

In this paper, we study the preparation of Carbon Nanotube/TiO2 nanocomposite photoanod for dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) by modified acid-catalyzed sol-gel method with 3 different procedures. (1) The CNT/TiO 2 powder combines with ethanol and titanium (IV) tetraisopropoxide and mix until uniform. (2) The CNT/TiO2 powder mix with nitric acid then grinds with polyethylene glycol and ethyl cellulose. (3) The CNT/TiO 2 powder mix with carbowax 20000 and stir vigorously. The CNT/TiO2 nanocomposite paste was doctor-bladed onto the support area to generate a 1.0cm2 active area and subsequently annealed at 750°C for 30 minutes. Then the CNT/TiO2 paste, negative electrode was immersed in N719 dye for 24 hours. A Pt thin film spattered on a glass substrate was used as the positive electrode. The characterization of the TiO2 paste was carried out by X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results show the particles rutile and anatase. The micrographs of scanning electron microscopy (SEM) images show that the pastes have high porosity. The I-V curve measurement shows the CNT/TiO2 paste DSSC efficiency.
