Abstract

NMR spectral data and single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis on a new neoflavonoid, isolated from the heartwood of Calophyllum inophylloide, have established its structure as (+)-(2/R,3S,16S)-2,3-dimethyl-5-hydroxy-6-(3-methyl-but-2-enyl)-7-methoxy-8-(2-carboxyl-1 -phenylethyl)-2,3-dihydrobenzopyran.
