Abstract

This study describes the solvothermal growth of ZnO microspheres on single layer graphene sheets without a seed layer. The structure and morphology of as-synthesized composite were analyzed using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Raman spectroscopy and field emission scanning electron microscopy (FESEM). The XRD pattern and Raman spectrum confirmed the formation of graphene decorated by hexagonal ZnO with high crystallinity. FESEM image reveals that the single layer graphene was decorated with microspheres that are composed of ZnO nanoparticles.
