Abstract

Route finder and travel cost estimation are widely available. But real-time routing systems that provide optimal routes and cost calculation based on dynamic traffic information on highways do not yet be present. This paper has explored the use of software route planner control for dynamic vehicle routing in long journey. This approach is based on intelligent software manager integrating with natural geographical information. Furthermore the system looked at the possibilities for collecting real-time road distance information for individual vehicles based on three algorithms (A star algorithm (Az.ast;), Dijkstra's algorithm and Floyd's algorithm). These three algorithms are applied in a routing system that provides car drivers with the shortest route from A to B. For this purpose a simulation environment has been created, in which shortest route in a long journey can be defined. The result show that, the vehicles in the simulation are placed in a realistic situation where the deal with matters like shortest routes finder and cost calculation are computed with best performance based on Dijkstra's algorithm.
