Abstract

This article addresses an approach based on the Taguchi method with grey multiple performance for the optimizing sintering operations of titanium alloy injection molded. In this point, a gas atomized Ti-6Al-4V powder was mixed with binders 60% weight of palm stearin (PS) and 40% weight of polyethylene (PE). A grey relational grade obtained from the grey relational analysis is used to solve the sintering operations with multiple performance characteristics. Optimal sintering parameters can be determined by the Taguchi method using the grey relational grade as the performance index. Strength and density are important characteristics in sintering. Using these characteristics, the sintering parameters including sintering temperature, sintering time, heating rate and cooling rate are optimize study.
