Abstract

Physical property measurements are reported on blends of polypropylene (PP) and natural rubber (NR) with liquid natural rubber (LNR) as compatibilizer. Thermal and mechanical properties indicate that such blends are homogeneous at various compositions of blends. It is observed that the yield stress and modulus increase with the amount of LNR. The data indicate a linear dependence of yield stress on strain rate in agreement with the prediction of the Eyring flow model at room temperature (25°C).
