Abstract

Hopeaphenol (1) as a resveratrol tetramer was isolated from the bark of Shorea johorensis collected from Imbak Canyon, Sabah, Malaysia. The structure of this compound was determined by the spectroscopic evidences using 1 H- And 13 C-NMR assigned with HSQC, HMBC, 1 H- 1 H COSY and 1 H- 1 H NOESY spectra, mass spectrum, and by comparison with reported data.
