Research methodology trending in evolutionary computing

Abstract

This article presents an exhaustive review of these studies and suggests a direction for future studies in the IS domain. Research Methodology Trending in Enterprise Architecture (EA), Information Technology Shared Services (ITSS) and Enterprise Resource Planning System (ERP) fields from 2014 until early 2019 was identified applied from the three research methods; qualitative, quantitative and mixed-method is investigated by a numerical study. The results also show that the IS field research in the past 5 years was not focused on one method, it covers quantitative, qualitative, and even mixed methods. The field of ERP study has matured, but not in the EA and ITSS fields. It was found that most studies in EA and ITSS fields focus on qualitative methods to create relevant theories in this field. A different approach of analysis technique in the IS domain for future research are recommended.
