Rank control chart as non-parametric food process monitoring

Abstract

This work explains the use of rank control chart to overcome the lack of knowledge about the distribution of food manufacturing process. It demonstrates the performance of the proposed chart in comparison to the traditional Shewhart using the expected value of the run length. The simulation results showed that the proposed control charts using rank measurement dominates the traditional in the presence of small shift in the process, with big sample size.
