On the linear stability analysis of double diffusive convection in a viscoelastic fluid saturated porous layer with cross diffusion effects and internal heat source

Abstract

Double diffusive convection in a binary viscoelastic fluid saturated porous layer in the presence of cross diffusion effects and internal heat source is studied analytically using linear stability analysis. The linear stability analysis is based on normal mode technique. The modified Darcy law for the viscoelastic fluid of the Oldroyd type is used to model the momentum equation. The onset criterion for stationary convection is derived analytically. The effects of Dufour, Soret and internal heat source parameters on the stability of the system are investigated.
