On the gold nanowire-based hyperbolic metamaterials

Abstract

Transmission features of filter comprised of gold nanowire-based hyperbolic metamaterial was touched upon. The chosen wavelength range of operation was 400-1400 nm. The results were obtained in respect of transmission characteristics corresponding to different values of the angle of incidence and thickness of hyperbolic metasurface. It was found that the transmission property remains greatly dependent on these parameters. The existence of stop band was attained in the near-infrared (NIR) regime of electromagnetic spectrum. Also, relatively higher transmission was found to be in the visible range. This suggests the use of such complex structured mediums in filtering applications.
