On cases of fourth-order Runge-Kutta methods

Abstract

In this paper, the classical fourth-order Runge-Kutta method and the cases of fourth order are discussed. We tried to explain if the classical Runge-Kutta method is the best known among other cases. In particular, the stability for each case where many of them have the same stability properties that classical one has, is studied. On the other hand, comparisons between the classical Runge Kutta method and cases are made for various time steps when they are applied to one dimension and three dimensions ODE's as Lorenz system.
