New material LiNbO3 for photocatalytically improvement of indoor air - An overview

Abstract

Photocatalysis is a rapidly developing field in environmental engineering. Photocatalyst is activated by electromagnetic waves from UV-VIS range of spectrum and is used in concrete construction for degradation of some volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and nasty smells removal. Different methods are used for improving the air quality; photocatalysis is an advanced oxidizing process that could be a promising solution of it. Using different techniques, new materials were developed by scientists, proving a real interest for these new environmental friendly technologies. The objective of the study was the understanding of the LiNbO3- photocatalysis phenomena including gaseous and adsorbed phase mechanisms for the improvement of air quality.
