Abstract

An effective teaching and learning method are an important aspect to realize the Strategic Plan for Higher Learning (PSPTN) where the qualities of undergraduate and post-graduate students are used as a parameter to measure the greatness of a university. Conventional learning techniques are no longer rational to be implemented for current students which are able to view and evaluate a subject in depth and critical. Teaching and learning techniques should also be changed according to the passage of time. This paper discusses a technique of discussions or 'musyawarah' to produce students who are proactive and discuss the critical things. Through this method, a group of students is given a topic and they discuss and each of them is free to throw his/her opinion. Lecturer serves as moderator for this activity.
