Abstract

Microstructure of carbon black aggregates both before and after incorporation in natural rubber have been investigated using a small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS) and an electron microscopy techniques. Both techniques suggest that there is no change in the average diameter and shape of carbon black aggregates after their incorparation in rubber. Aggregates appear to have a fractal structure.
