Abstract

Modern times witness the usage of silicon and other semiconducting materials for various technological applications. Advancements in micron- and nanoscale-sized semiconductors attract even more to the researchers [1]. Indeed, the world is now passing through the age of nano-mania where everything nano seems to be greatly exciting and worthwhile. In this stream, nanotechnology remains in the forefront, now widely considered to be the latest key technology able to change human lives in many ways, which can be witnessed through the revolutionary technological progresses that have been realized in many areas including medicine, architecture, transportations, communications, memory devices, etc. [2-5].
