Abstract

Driven by competitiveness, students' performance enhancement and education service improvement, institutions have invested heavily in information technology, specifically computers and courseware with the likelihood that this investment will promise a foreseeable future. Understanding the factors that influence students' technology acceptance and perception in different contexts is vital in integrating ICT in classroom and making it a successful programme. Thus, this study was designed to investigate students' perception on the use of a courseware known as TELL ME MORE in learning English language in terms of 1) perceived ease of use, 2) perceived usefulness and 3) perceived suit- ability. A total of 85 semester one students of a polytechnic in Melaka responded to a set of questionnaire consisting of 26 items using 1-4 Likert scale instrument. A descriptive statistic using frequency count and mean score was used in analysing the data. Analysis showed that, as a whole, students indicated positive perceptions on the ease of use, usefulness and suitability of the courseware. Analysis also showed that TELL ME MORE courseware is a potentially useful and suitable tool for the learning of English language particularly for speaking skills.
