Kesan dos separa mati racun serangga ke atas kadar kemandirian hidup dan kesuburan sycanus dichotomus (Hemiptera: Reduviidae)

Abstract

Effect of cypermethrin, deltamethrin and trichlorfon were tested against 3 rd instar S. dichotomus by using dipping methods. These insecticides commonly used to control oil palm leaf defoliators. The results of the sublethal dose treated on the 3 rd instar S. dichotomus shows that the developmental stage of 3 rd and 5 th instar which had been exposed with insecticides were significantly longer (p<0.05) than were control insects. Whereas there is no significant different in developmental stage of 4 th instar S. dichotomus that have been exposed with different treatment. Besides, there were a significant reduction in the percentage survivorship of nympal stage of S. dichotomus that been exposed with insecticides than were control insects. Regardless the type of the treatments that had been exposed during the 3 rd instar S. dichotomus, the female adult that survived from those treatments live longer than were male insects. Meanwhile, the longevity and fertility of S. dichotomus adult resulting from 3 rd instar which had been exposed to insecticides shows no significant difference (p>0.05) compared to control insects. The result from this study shows that choosing suitable insecticide must be taken with caution in order to control pest population without harming natural enemies in oil palm ecosystem.
