Improved tracking adaptive controller

Abstract

By using high order pole-assignment we can exploit the extra degree of freedom available to improve the tracking capability of pole-assignment controller. This technique is robust against non-minimum phase zeros and underestimated time delay. The computational task is simple since no factorization of zeros is required. When implemented on-line, the controller can automatically extract the nature of the reference signal to obtain the 'optimum' tracking of the reference signal.
