Free trade agreements and implications on public health-an analysis of fta of selected asean member states

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

Much has been discussed on the issue of the implications of the free trade agreements (FTA) and public health, especially on the relationship of intellectual property and public health and the public health provisions under the Doha Declaration, which specifically relates to the access to medicine. This paper plans to discuss the intellectual property chapters in the ASEAN, Malaysia's and Singapore's FTA and to evaluate what are the impacts of those provisions on the public health in the selected ASEAN member states.
