Abstract
We investigate algorithms of database selection and evaluate their performance by modelling a distributed search system. The evaluation is done using a 10 gigabyte document collection divided into 857 document databases. We have also investigated various evaluation criteria and put forward a new metrics for evaluating database selection algorithms.
