Enterobiasis and urinary tract infection in young girls

Research output: Contribution to journalArticle

Abstract

Urinary tract infection in young girls is a common and perplexing problem in paediatric practice since various factors and infectious agents may be involved. We report a case of a young girl who passed out pinworm in her urine and presented with urinary tract infection, possibly related to Enterobius vermicularis. We hope that this case will create awareness among the paediatricians to carefully examine all young female patients with urinary tract infection for evidence of pinworm infestation.
