Effect of mixing parameter on electrical conductivity of carbon black/graphite/epoxy nanocomposite using Taguchi method

Abstract

Optimization of mixing parameter on the electrical conductivity of carbon black/graphite/epoxy composite (CB/G/EP) using Taguchi method was studied. Three mixing parameter which are mixing speed, mixing temperature and mixing time is apply as control factor in Taguchi method analysis. Experimental experiment is carried out based on orthogonal array design using these three mixing parameter. The highest electrical conductivity obtained is 221 S/cm. Results were analyzed using the signal to noise ratio (S/N) and analysis of variance (ANOVA). Mixing speed is the most significant factor that influence the electrical conductivity of CB/G/EP composite. Optimization of mixing parameter of the composite using Taguchi method managed to increase electrical conductivity from 60.7 S/cm to 221 S/cm.
