Development of a MATLAB GUI database for co-seismic acoustic and gravity wave propagation

Abstract

This project aims to develop a MATLAB GUI database for Co-seismic acoustic and gravity wave propagation analysis by integrating MySQL database system. In this project, the filtering process of both GPS Total Electron Content (TEC) and magnetic field from GPS and magnetometer measurements, respectively are automated by using GUI with several filtering techniques. This project is an extension project where several types of filter that are Butterworth filter, Savitzky-Golay filter and band pass filter were previously developed. This GUI version is named the MATLAB Co-seismic Acoustic Propagation (CAP) GUI. A result of this case study is the Tohoku earthquake, Japan of M9.0 in 2011, which contributed to the variation of the TEC in the ionospheric layer and the magnetic field of the earth.
