Abstract

A composite Performance Evaluation Model (CPEM) and its prototypes were presented. A CPEM is a model that provides the optimal software environment for performance analysis and tuning of heterogeneous networks. It covers evaluative and informational aspects of performance management. The approach taken was to examine the possibility of using analytical performance models as a tool for evaluating network performance when a 'what if' examination is performed by a performance network management application.
