Correlations in alkaline-earth chalcogenides and II-VI and III-V semiconductors with radius ratio

    Abstract

    The radius ratio p is found to have interesting correlations with the cohesive energy in the alkaline-earth chalcogenides and ionicity character in II-VI and III-V compounds. The observation is explained on the basis of compressibility in alkaline-earth chalcogenides and the relative sizes of the ions in the semiconductor alloys.
