Abstract

The transverse advancement technique of ureteral reimplantation has been used to reimplant 304 ureters in 205 patients with primary vesicoureteral reflux. An analysis of the results indicates that diverticulum formation is a significant complication of the operation, having been encountered in 17 per cent of the cases. This complication did not affect the reliability of the operation in regard to reflux prevention, with an over-all success rate of 98.7 per cent.
