Abstract

Annealing treatment directly affects the crystallinity, microstructure and stoichiometric ratio of the thin films. Thus, for the dye-sensitized solar cell (DSSC) application, low annealing temperatures is proposed to improve the properties of ZnO-CNTs photoanode. In this paper, the ZnO-CNTs photoanodes fabricated by chemical bath deposition method were annealed at low annealing temperatures of 200, 250, 300 and 350 °C. Consequently, the XRD, FESEM and photovoltaic results serve as a benchmark to find a suitable annealing treatment for the development of ZnO-CNTs based DSSC. The annealing temperature of 350°C can be proposed as a suitable heat treatment effect to obtain a good structural, morphological and photovoltaic properties although with a bad electron transport properties.
