Abstract

The influence of waveguide thickness on the output power according to the voltage applied to the electrodes based on Integrated Mach-Zehnder interferometer is investigated. Simulation result which are performed using BPM software, stress that there is an optimum value of 3×3 switching optical waveguide thickness at which the switch process and in turn the output power at 1300nm wavelength can be achieved. This is because the thickness affect significantly the coupling region between the waveguide, and also the effect of the Pockels and Kerr coefficients.
