Abstract

This study focuses on analyzing maximum optical nodes in ring and tree topology that can be implemented in optical network and determining the power output of each optical node. Differences of sensitivity leads to variation of maximum optical nodes. By increasing the dynamic range in the network, the optical nodes that can be achieved could also be increased. To study the maximum optical nodes that can be achieved, the coupling value at the ring path will be varied accordingly to obtain equal power output where the output power of each node is the optimum value achieved in the network.
