A new wideband double negative metamaterial

Abstract

The design and absorption analysis of a new double negative metamaterial is being presented in this study. The proposed design shows resonance frequency within the X-band and Ku-band with double-negative characteristics at Ku-band in the microwave spectra. The measured result is presented that shows good conformity with the simulated result. The material displays more than 1 GHz wideband refractive index in the Ku-band. In addition, maximum 40% absorption can be achieved with the material as well.
